Cae Dai Trust

The Cae Dai Trust is a small charity based in Denbigh; a small market town in the beautiful hills of the Vale of Clwyd. After the closure of North Wales’s largest psychiatric hospital in 1992, the Cae Dai Trust was established to provide support for adults who have difficulties with drugs, alcohol, depression and mental illness. Cae Dai is able to give limited temporary accommodation; which provides the “umbrella” of support required to enable the beneficiary’s time to gain confidence, self esteem and life skills essential to moving on and living independently in the community.  The Trust works closely with other external organisations and adopts a multi-agency approach regarding the support of vulnerable adults.

We are currently supporting 21 beneficiaries, 6 live at the trust, 4 live in local residential care and the others live independently within the local community. 

By the time people are referred to Cae Dai they have lost virtually everything, their homes, families jobs and of course their self esteem. Usual they have been homeless and forced to sleep rough due to lack of space in the night shelter.  Their addictions and or dependencies have made it impossible to function independently in the community.

The Cae Dai Trust provides an idyllic location for people to begin their steps to a fresh start.  Its beautiful surroundings give peace and quiet whilst the 1950's museum, woodland community orchard and farm provide a sense of purpose and work experience. Cae Dai gives people an opportunity to rebuild their lives in a safe, caring non judgemental environment. We encourage people to take one day at a time and slowly embrace the future.

Our project is unique to the area therefore are service is in high demand. We are confident that once the museum is complete and we are once again receiving a regular income, we will be in a position to offer support to even more people, who desperately need our help.

Please make a donation however large or small and help return the museum to its former glory.
